Choosing how to heat your home should not be too confusing, whether you’re thinking of investing in a complete new central heating system, or simply replacing an old boiler. Carefully consider your own needs and then take professional advice.

Points to think about

Since April 2005 all newly installed gas boilers, and from April 2007 all oil boilers, must be the condensing type. There are very few exceptions to this rule and the good news is; they are considerably more efficient than the regular boilers and are, therefore, safer on the environment and will save you money on your fuel bill.

Conventional Boilers

If you have an older central heating system it is quite likely that you have a conventional boiler. The system comprises of a boiler, stored hot water, feed and expansion cistern and cold water storage tank.

System Boiler

A similar principle to the conventional boiler but the system is pressurized and many system components are built into the boiler resulting in a faster response and more economical running costs.

Combination Boilers

No need for a hot water storage cylinder or cold water storage tank, less pipework and less installation time Water is heated on demand and is delivered to your taps and shower at mains pressure.

Don’t forget..

The systems above are only described here in the very broadest sense but your professional installer will be able to advise you, in more detail, and discuss advantages and disadvantages of each boiler depending on your requirements. Your house size, available space, water pressure and demand for hot water should all be taken into consideration. Also consider your future plans; are you looking to extend your property, perhaps into the loft? Please don’t forget, we offer free estimates.

We install a range of high quality boilers such as Glow-worm, Worcester Bosch and Vaillant giving you more flexibility whilst trying to meet your requirements. Most importantly you can be assured that we have the training, qualifications and experience to do the job to the highest standards and all our work is fully guaranteed.

All installers fitting gas boilers must be CORGI registered or OFTEC registered to fit oil boilers. Furthermore, the installers must be trained and qualified in energy efficiency and the new condensing boiler Building Regulations. After completion of your new boiler installation we will inform the relevant notification body and you will receive a certificate to confirm that Building Regulations have been met and your Local Authority Building Control will be notified. The certificate is an important document and will be required should you ever decide to sell your property.
